Weekly Menu, February 3rd

In the winter, I consume Satsuma Mandarins like they're candy.

Weekly Menu
Sunday- Mac and Cheese and mixed green salad
Monday- Halibut and Grandma Walt's creamed cabbage
Tuesday- Roasted Brussels Sprouts, fennel, leeks and carrots over wild rice
Wednesday-Baked Chicken with arugula sauce, roasted potatoes and sautéed mystery green
Thursday-Turkey Burgers

The Farmers Market on Saturday was great, despite the drizzle and (California) cold temperatures. Most of the farmers were out and smiling, unlike the week before when all I got was an orange and a walnut. Thoroughly depressing.

This week, I got a bounty of vegetables including some mystery greens I bought just because the arugula farmer said I would like them sautéed. It starts with a "T" but that's all I remember. Any guesses?

On another note, I'll see if my mac and cheese recipe pans out. I'm making it with cream cheese, cheddar and 1/2 and 1/2. This is not a recipe for the lactose intolerant.

Hi there -- so glad I found this site! My cooking is inspired by the exact same thing: getting tasty whole foods on the table easily, yet still somehow remain inspired and vibrant.

When I lived in Japan I could down a dozen mikan (mandarins) in a sitting, no problem. We have lots in common here, I'll be back!

Cheers,

Eric
