What I've learned about cooking for a family

Make nutrition a core value for you and your family.

1. Get smart and make a plan...set specific days to menu plan and shop.
2. Take an hour to plan your weekly menu.
3. Make your shopping list.
4. ShopTips: Organize recipes by season.

Each week, sit with your seasonal recipes and chart out your dinners.

Make your lunches out of leftovers whenever possible.

For best flavors and quality, eat seasonally and locally.

Use whole real foods.

100 year rule: when buying a processed food, ie. bread, yogurt or a condiment, make sure you read the label carefully.

You should know what each ingredient is, and as a rule of thumb, make sure that each ingredient was around 100 years ago. If your grandparents and great-grandparents didn't eat it, then you shouldn't be eating it now.
