Apple Sauce

Apple sauce is one of those things we think is hard to make, but I assure you it's not. It's super easy.

Start with 5 apples. Any kind. Depends on your personal preference. Do you like tart apples? Sweet? Combo? I used a combo because that's what I had.... (10lbs for $5 of "ugly fruit" at the farmers market....makes great apple sauce)

Peal and slice. Then place into a saucepan with sugar and cinnamon (both are optional) and simmer until super soft (approx 30 minutes).

Hand mash with a potato smasher.

Cool and serve.

Easy Apple Sauce
5 apples
3/4 cup water or cider
1 T sugar (optional)
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Peel, core and slice each apple into 8 pieces. Put all ingredients in saucepan and cover. and Simmer until apples are tender...about 30 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes. Allow apples to cool and then mash with a potato masher.
