If you live in the Sacramento, CA area, you should check out the Persian restaurant, Shahrzad's in Rancho Cordova. I would say it was a hidden treat, but by the amount of people dinning there, it appears that I was the last to know. I dined there last Friday night with a group of women from the "hood".
We were first greeted with a plate of pita bread, feta, radishes and fresh herbs: Cilantro, Basil and Mint. Until Friday I had never put those three herbs together in anything, let alone wrap them up in a pita. It was delicious.
So delicious that I came home and made it....I have been eating this every day (I know, I know...I am obsessive).
It gets better.
Today for lunch, I served myself a bowl of the tortellini picnic salad, along with some of the grilled chicken (both from yesterday)...and wouldn't you know it, this was a great place to throw in some mint, basil, and cilantro. I topped it with some sumac a dollop of StonyField Greek yogurt (which I will tell you more about later).
SUPER DELICIOUS.

You're making me hungry and I just got stuffed on deep dish pizza. I make these lettuce wraps (which take fooorever) in the summer when all the herbs are a plentiful that have basil, cilanto, and mint- that trio sends them thru the sky!!!
