MSG Beware

Are you sensative to MSG? I am. I get really tired.

Most of us know to look out for monosodium glutamate or MSG, but do you know that it can lurk in your food under different names?

Here is a list of ingredients that ALWAYS contain MSG from the Price Pottenger Foundation:

Autolyzed Yeast
Calcium Caseinate
Gelatin
Glutamate
Glutamic Acid
Hydrolyzed Protein
Monopotassium Glutamate
Monosodium Glutamate
Sodium Caseinate
Textured Protein
Yeast Extract
Yeast Food
Yeast Nutrient

NOTE: Any of the above ingredients can be listed as "natural flavorings" on a label....be aware, those food manufacturers are tricky!

Thanks for posting this. MSG gives me migraines as well as sulphites. It is nice to know the hidden names- not that I eat processed foods- but when youre at somebody's house they are hard to avoid!! Gelatin!!! Wow! Guess I will be making less marshmallows for the fourth this year! Who knew!
